Cookies

Cookies, automatic data collection and similar technologies. The Site collects and stores data that is automatically generated during your use, including your preferences and usage statistics. This includes data about the device you are using when you access the Site and your location. If you browse the Site but do not make a purchase or register an account, we may be able to associate a visit at a later time when you wish to make a purchase, register an account or otherwise interact with us with your previous visits to the Site and details of products you have viewed or purchased from us. We believe that this will result in a more personalised and streamlined interaction with our Site and will further our legitimate business interests of providing visitors to our Site with personalised content while respecting their privacy rights.

When you visit the Site, we and our third-party service providers who provide services on our behalf receive and record data on our (and our third-party service providers') server logs from your browser and device, including your IP address, from cookies, pixels and similar technologies. Cookies are small text files placed on a visitor's device to store information and sometimes track information about you. We use a number of cookies that only last for the duration of your online session and expire when you exit the browser. Other cookies, however, can recognise you when you return to the site and last longer. Cookies and other similar tracking technologies help us understand how you use our site and help us ensure that you find the site easily. Some cookies can also help us understand how effective our marketing initiatives are. You can find out more about cookies on the website http://www.allaboutcookies.org/ge/, which also has more useful information about cookies and how to block cookies based on different types of browsers. Most browsers allow you to block and delete certain cookies. If you do this, the site may not function properly.

Types of cookies Description and further information Absolutely necessary cookies. Absolutely necessary cookies are cookies that allow you to navigate and use our site and its features. Without them you would not be able to navigate between pages. Functionally Necessary Cookies. These cookies allow us to remember that you have visited us before and the preferences and information you have provided to us in order to provide you with a personalised experience, such as storing your preferences and choices and allowing us to customise elements of the site's layout or content to suit you. Cookies necessary for performance and analysis. This information is used to make sure the site can handle the number of visitors, to help us correct errors on the site and to measure usage across the site. They also help us understand whether you have visited the site before so that we can identify the number of unique visitors to different parts of the site. These cookies also help us understand how long you stay on the site, which page you came to our site from, so that we can improve the site and learn more about which areas of the site are most popular with visitors.
We use third party providers such as Google Analytics to analyse statistical information from our users of the Site. We may be able to correlate this information with your information once we have received it from a third party. Retargeting or advertising cookies These cookies collect data about the pages you visit as well as data about other websites you visit in order to place you in a "market segment". This data is collected by reference to the cookie or other identifier. This may result in you being shown advertisements for our products or other products in which you may be interested and for our site on other websites or apps based on the market segment into which you have been placed and/or your visit to our site. Our online advertising partners also use data from their activity on the Site to assist their other clients and intermediaries with their digital advertising activities.
We work with a number of companies for this retargeting, including Facebook, Google, Amazon, Criteo, Outbrain, Yahoo and Gemini.
For more information about this type of interest-based advertising and how to opt out of this feature, please visit www.youronlinechoices.com/de/ or see our cookie table below.

A pixel is a piece of code embedded on the Site that collects data about a user's activity on the Site. For example, the use of a pixel allows us to record that a user has visited a particular page or clicked on a particular advertisement. By using the Site, you authorise us to collect, analyse and store data in connection with the provision of the Site. The legal basis for this is Art. 6 (1) 1 lit. a DSGVO.

Cookie Opt-Out. As mentioned above, you can stop or restrict the placement of some cookies on your computer or remove them from your browser by adjusting your web browser settings and visiting www.allaboutcookies.org. When you visit www.youronlinechoices.com/uk/, you should be able to see the cookies you have opted out of, as well as information on how to withdraw your consent from a variety of third parties with whom we work. Please note that cookie-based opt-outs are not effective on mobile applications. On many mobile devices, app users can opt-out of certain advertisements through your device's privacy settings.

Please note that these cookie-based opt-outs must be performed on each device and browser that you wish to opt out of, whether you use our opt-out or one of the online industry.

For example, if you used opt-out in your computer browser, this opt-out will not apply to your mobile device. You will need to deactivate it separately on each device.

Create customised target groups.

We also work with Google and Facebook to create a custom audience that, like interest-based cookies, displays our advertising to you when you interact with Facebook and Google's networks. We work with these companies to offer our content to existing and potential customers. We do this by transmitting a masked unique ID to such companies which is a cryptographic hash of your email so that your data is pseudonomysed, meaning that you cannot be identified from it unless additional data is added to that data (we do not share such additional data). This ID or code is compared to your equivalent unique code generated by our advertising partners Google and Facebook to tailor advertising to you. If you have opted out of receiving our marketing communications, our advertising using these custom targeting channels will no longer be displayed on Google and Facebook networks. However, you can still receive interest-based cookies that promote our products and are based on market segments (which you can update here).

  • Facebook Custom Audience. To learn more about Facebook Custom Audience, see here and / or visit your Facebook Ads and Privacy Settings.
