When German oaks grow in a bog and sink under the earth, they are surrounded by bog for centuries and millennia in the absence of oxygen. This creates the unique discolouration of the 500 to 6000 year old oak. Our bog oak is characterised by the particularly complex salvage and drying process, which allows the rare and crack-free heart pieces to be handled.

Product description
The Olavson knife is 100% Made in Germany (Solingen). We worked on the Olavson Chef knife together with our partner 'Clauberg' in Solingen for over 2 years. Only the most experienced master grinders grind each Olavson knife by hand to an extreme sharpness. The luxurious fine wood handles are made in the German Erzgebirge.
Olavson's powder metallurgical high-tech steel is known as a renowned all-rounder steel. Thanks to the fantastic properties of Elmax steel, your knife remains rust-free and can be sharpened to extreme sharpness by diamond grinding thanks to its fine-grained carbide distribution.
